Privacy Policy & Data Disclosures
Last Updated: August 2026
1. Information We Collect & Sourcing
CarrierSafetyData ("we", "our", or "us") operates an independent commercial motor carrier safety intelligence directory. Carrier business profiles, USDOT numbers, MC numbers, inspection violation logs, and insurance filings published on this portal are compiled exclusively from publicly accessible records maintained by the United States Department of Transportation (US DOT) and the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) pursuant to the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA).
We do not publish non-public personal identification information (such as driver social security numbers, residential phone numbers for non-commercial entities, or driver personal medical histories).
2. Cookies, Log Files & Advertising Partners
We use industry-standard cookies and server log files (IP addresses, browser types, referring/exit pages, and date/time stamps) to analyze trends, administer the site, and improve user navigation.
Third-party vendors, including Google AdSense, use cookies (such as the DoubleClick DART cookie) to serve ads based on prior visits to this and other websites. Users may opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google's Ads Settings.
3. California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA)
Under the CCPA, California residents have the right to request disclosure of personal data collection and request deletion. Commercial motor carrier registration records are officially classified as public regulatory records under federal statutes and are exempt from standard commercial deletion requests, but business contact inaccuracies may be submitted via our Data Correction Portal.
